AJ is a clinical psychologist and a founding partner of Taking Shape Counseling and Wellness. AJ grew up with a park ranger for a dad and lived in national parks all across the US before attending Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. After graduation she moved west to Portland, Oregon, earning her masters and doctorate in psychology at Pacific University. AJ spent several years working in college counseling, then community mental health before breaking off to form her own practice. AJ has served on the boards of Fourth Wall, a theater and networking group for young professionals at the Denver Center for Performing Arts, and Roots and Branches with the Rose Community Foundation. She enjoys hiking, running, and playing her ukuleles and guitar, affectionately named Maybellene, Little Green, and Rubylove.
