Jess Miller is a Sophomore at Denver East High School. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time in PresenTense and has learned so much from this wonderful program. Her passions include debate and horseback riding, which inspired her to pick a project centered around human-animal interaction. She is passionate about helping teens develop coping mechanisms for everyday stresses through interactions with animals.
CHASE, the Club for Human-Animal Support and Engagement, provides teens with human-animal interaction to reduce their stress. CHASE is a club at East High School in which students volunteer weekly at canine adoption events in partnership with the organization Souldog. The club will recruit and screen new potential foster families and teens will have the opportunity to foster dogs for 1-2 weeks as they wait for adoption.
